Eating Disorder Talk for Teachers
This is a particularly difficult topic to teach and one of the biggest silent killers affecting our young people at the moment. Alarmingly, research conducted with young people in 2010 on behalf of the NEDC indicated that 51.3% of 12-17 year olds agreed that a person with an eating disorder should ‘snap out of it, there are more important things in life to worry about’.
An eating disorder is a mental illness and needs to be treated as such. We desperately need to change the way we’re talking to our kids about this topic and create a safe and supportive community within schools for kids to feel comfortable to talk about it whether for themselves or to support a friend.
When you purchase Eating Disorder Talk, you’ll receive an easy to follow, grab and go, classroom ready comprehensive Health program.
